Five more days to halloween, halloween, halloween. Five more days to halloween, halloween, halloween…
So the show got derailed. (haha get it?) but that doesn’t mean the party is off.
We just spent a while picking out stops and coming up with ideas to make this race fun and spooky. You will not want to miss this one! Every complaint made this year has been remedied. You wanted a longer race: ok. You wanted new locations: Check! You wanted more stops. Boom, done. You wanted more prizes from new sponsors: well i brought in a few old favorites, but i found some new friends too. And these guys are NOT stingy. You wanted my goofy, fun rules: Well, you can rest assured now that i rule with my iron fist again it is a done deal!
We read up and found some of Rochester’s most haunted locations, and we worked them into the race. I’ve come up with some of the scariest Halloween scares from my childhood and worked them in. I’ve upped the scavenger hunt challenge.
oh hey whats up. i have that shirt.
Here is a little sneak peek of the AMAZING bag that our buddies at Burro Bags made for the event… In that crate behind it is all the stuff from FSA and a few things from 1/8 inch and SADIO. DO not miss out on this one. It’s gonna be rad.
Gearing up for Hellonweel!
This race is going to be baller. We’ve worked really hard to build relationships with a lot of these sponsors, and worked very hard to build our reputation. This is the culmination of all that hard work thus far.
Outlier makes fine clothes for both fashion and function. Tailored pants that make riding your bike to the office a less casual affair, but still a comfortable one. Their garments are beautifully crafted and extremely comfortable.
Eighth Inch has supported our scene for years. They sponsored the first Halloween alley cat thrown by Blk13 that I personally placed in. I got a pitcure with a stripper from the Barrel of Dolls, wore an ultimate warrior costume and won a pair of their super comfortable handlebars. They went on to support Flour City Hardcourt and DAB, and we’ve developed a pretty solid relationship. They worked hard producing the first production mallet heads, and have supported polo to the max. Also their brand of affordable fix gear accessories make a great alternative to companies like orign8, who is a house brand by a sleezy bunch in florida. I urge you to check out these guys, a bunch of actual riders working out of a shop instead. Their product is either as good if not superior, and they actually support your scene.
Phil Wood is a maker of premium hubs, bottom brackets, lubes and bearings; arguably one of the best in the world. Their dedication to their craft has made them them possibly the oldest cycling component manufacturer in the world, using only the best materials and the best hand-craftsmanship to achieve that. We are proud to have their support for this years event.
Burro bags are handmade in Jacksonville, Fl and are of the finest quality. Durable, handsome and strong, (not unlike myself) Burro has always come through for us. Their messenger bags are among the best i’ve seen, their toe straps are the simpliest and among the strongest I’ve encountered, and their hip pouches are the best i’ve used. They hate bicycle thieves as much as i do and love bike polo almost as much. When looking for a new bag, why not think about a company that supports your local community instead of the hip big brands.
FSA is one of the only BIG component companies I’ve seen support anything like this, and I’m glad that they have. They make one of the most under rated product lines on the market, an they’ve been awesome to work with. They’ve sent us one of the biggest boxes of loot that we’ve ever received! I’m extremely proud to be associated with these guys.
This is my first time working with sadio, who has been cranking out some really stellar parts in the trick track community. Sadio isn’t a shell company, they’re straight from Thailand, and from what i can tell are rider owned. They hooked us up big with some of their new white Spark hubs. Machined from 7075 aluminum, and coming in at a solid 650 grams, these are built to be ridden and take a serious fucking beating. The axle nuts can be take off with an allen or a 15, and can but upgraded to take a 14mm. I can’t wait to see these put on a bike.
Stemie sent us a big box of their new stem protectors. Whether skidding, falling or crashing you’re bound to hit your crotch on the stem. These guys tool it upon themselves to help relieve us of some of the pain that goes along with that. I know my girlfriend often complained about skiding and having the stem dig into her girly parts, and this silicon pad finally gives you a resting spot.
Tree has been a long time standard in bmx, making some solid gear for some time. They’ve often supported even the smallest projects and I’m glad to see them support ours.
All City was one of the first companies to ever sponsor one of my events, and has come through on the regular for us since. The only messenger owned company i know of, they make some finer fixed gear bits. Check out Coop with Drop Squad Pedal Posse with his new AC Nature Boy whip; rad SSCX frame build up with some bits from a FSA.
Knog; our peeps from Oz have been hooking us up with boxes and boxes of goodies for sometime. Lights, shirts, hats, and gloves. Knog is the exclusive lights of Crime alley and they’ve been with us since the start. Our first video ever shot was in promotion and thanks for these guys, and that’s really what started affiliation with Mr. Adam Scheffler on a professional basis. The originators of the silicone blinkies that are popping up everywhere, and now with some premium locks.
Seagull was the first messenger bag company to sign up to help us out. Our beautiful friend Sarah (and fellow chukker) from seagull has arranged a couple of awesome prizes for this years race. Gorgeous quality and design, Seagull has never made a bag that i haven’t lushed over.
Always in search of a new company to work with that will maintain the level of repute we’ve set out to achieve, i’ve come across State Bicycle Co. out of Tempe, AZ. SBC has set it self apart from others with similar product by arranging their bikes in limited colour schemes for limited times, offering free continental shipping and most importantly by also HATING BIKE THIEVES. Their new campaign, offering $100 discounts to victims with police reports to help them replace their whips is one of the coolest things i’ve seen any company do in a long time.
(Protester who traveled from San Diego. This is his current home. A tent and sleeping bag.)
(Protesters gathered for the 8pm general assembly)
“Silence is Powerless”
(During general assemblies, individuals would volunteer their time to dictate information given…
These are photos taken by my friend Pat Stefano, who is a little goofy, but sweet dear guy who happens to be, in an age of an art diluted by disposable photographers with the notion a decent camera makes you a decent photographer, a truly brilliant photographer. We are all proud of you buddy.

Polo prep step one
Our friends over at 1/8 inch are having a deal that makes this the opportune time to get your self a nice set of polo wheels!Or maybe you’re just aching to learn to build a pair of wheels. This is the best time, because they send you everything. Rim, hub, and spokes all at the right length to lace up your own wheel.
head over to EIGHTH INCH to get your self all the parts you need to set up some wheels.
If you’re worried about building your own wheel, i’ll be organizing a wheel building class at towner’s over the winter, but supplies from us won’t even be this low!
Scoop it up.
Down by one.
Sincerity and commitment is hard to come by. Crime Alley is streamlined a bit, but that’s for the best. Cut off one head two more take it’s place.
See you October 29th.
This bike was stolen from state street last night. This is my baby. I will offer up quite a reward to who ever finds it, and if you explain to me how you got it. If you stole it, i will not report you to the police and still give you a reward if it’s returned. This is my all time favorite bike ive owned. help a brother out.
Not one of ours, but sick none the less. we need more ladies on our polo courts like Nicole, Ashley, Ruth, Hoskins and Lindsy!
